This apartment is located on the third floor of a walk up but with high ceilings and French doors opening onto a newly built sunny deck. The apartment had two bedrooms, large living room, but a dark and cramped kitchen and bath. The walls and dropped ceiling needed to be opened up to take full advantage of the natural light and create an enjoyable eating/kitchen area. The client also requested a master and guest bath. We decided to create a new open kitchen, two bathrooms and a laundry closet where the kitchen, pantry and old bathroom were located.

With the help of new compact appliances we were able to enlarge the cooking area. We took advantage of high ceilings and small floor space to create a compact yet dramatic powder room. Through the use of lighting, contemporary materials, and a sandblasted glass pocket door in the bathroom, the open and light atmosphere carries through to the entire apartment.
